Ulterior Featured Rider Brandon Lee

Brandon Lee is an active member of the Bay Area cafe racer scene. He has combed through the many brands available for casual looks combined with ample protection that work for his style and proportions.

From toe to head, here's what Brandon has going on and his comments on the products.

Boots: Style Martin "Ace" Size 41
”I love these guys. It gives me an extra inch of leg length that lets me almost flat foot it and move the bike with confidence. It has these side zippers—it takes a lot of time to gear up for a ride with the pants, jacket, helmet--I never have to lace up my boots. I just slide my foot in, zip them up and go."

Pants: Pando Moto "Mark Kev 01" Size 36x32
"These come with Kevlar and SAS-Tec armor which is very light and protective. I don't even know its there sometimes. I usually wear athletic fit 35x30 jeans. I tried other Pando sizes, but I had to roll them up so much. These fit perfectly. I like them so much I also bought a pair of their 'Mark Kev 02' in brown. The side pockets make it easy for me to get things like my wallet and phone in and out while I'm on the bike. The zippers along the pocket seams flow a surprising amount of air. They're in the perfect place."

Jacket: Richa "Memphis" Size XL
"It didn't used to have this color; it used to be a little more brown. With all the wear and tear of riding, that's what happens. It definitely needs to be cleaned and reconditioned. Everybody says, 'no its got the patina, it's got the oil stains, or gas stains, or ketchup, or whatever'. It's a good jacket—it fits me. I have bigger arms, bigger shoulders, so a lot of the big name brands don't fit all that well. You name it, I've tried it. I even went on eBay and bought a second one--same model in a deeper brown. When it fits I gotta be sure to get a second one. I don't ride in any other jacket."

Gloves: Reax "Tasker" Size L
"I needed an upgrade from my old gloves. These have the features I was looking for; all leather construction with a bit of protection. They fit me great too, so you know I bought two." Helmet: Biltwell Gringo S, Size L "I had this custom painted for the DGR this year. It's got the black, the 'silver ice' that's on the tank (2019 Speed Twin) and white. More retro rides, I like to rock the Gringo.”
